WORKSHOPS IN SCHOOLS
Creative writing, specifically poetry, is a powerful way to explore a variety of topics with young people, and find ways of understanding each other.

Students are able to articulate their hopes and fears in a safe environment, expand their vocabulary and improve their literacy skills.

I have delivered bespoke workshops in primary and secondary schools since 2015 - working as a poet in residence over a period of time, as well as delivering day-long activity across the whole school, after schools sessions, and one-off workshops.

As Resident Poet at an alternative provision in Nottingham, I produced four publications with the young people. In my first year the students didn't really believe we could make a book, or that their stories were valid enough to be included. By year 3 they were designing the cover, writing poetry and explaining the process to new students.
